#092E45#4D8FA0#A8D2BA#CCB8D7Stop one: the transparent lift
The lift descends slowly until lights on the surface become a distant patch of stars. A sign says that colors here belong to the shared night. You choose a small lamp and a color you are willing to lend.
Stop two: the color exchange
The square has no largest light, only many smaller ones. Residents listen to a fragment of a visitor’s day and suggest a color for it. You describe an ordinary moment of waiting. Someone chooses pale green without explaining why it fits.
Stop three: a window toward the surface
At the highest window, you hang the lamp where the current can reach it. After its color drifts away, the shell remains in your hand. Your postcard needs only the empty lamp and the water it briefly lit, rather than the whole city.
Make it a small practice
- Draw a map of the destination with only three stops.
- Put a sound and a small object into your journal.
- Write a three-line postcard about the scene you want to keep.
