Choose a manageable passage
Choose a short passage of Spanish Romance that you would like to replay. Before reading other descriptions, write a setting word such as window, corridor, or evening. It is your association, not an official story attached to the recording.
Change the imagined setting
On the second listen, imagine a different place. Notice whether different notes, spaces, or changes of strength become prominent. The sound has not changed; the association you bring to it has. This can also become an early exercise for thinking about a soundtrack.
Leave an interpretation open
For the third listen, choose an action rather than a place: waiting, walking, or looking back. Compare the three prompts and keep the one that brings a scene to mind. Write a soundtrack note of no more than five lines, leaving space between the music and your description.
Make it a small practice
- Choose a setting word for the first listen.
- Try a different setting on the second listen.
- Use an action word to write a five-line note on the third listen.
