#C76B48#E6BD8B#E9E3D7#414444Choose a focal point
Begin with a scarf, bag, hat, or piece of colored fabric you already like. Set it beside neutral clothes and notice what you see first. If too many strong colors compete around it, remove one element and compare.
Echo a little, not everything
A tiny echo of the accent can appear elsewhere, perhaps inside a pattern. The two areas need not match exactly. An echo is an option to explore, not a requirement to make every accessory part of a set.
Look from more than one distance
Up close you may notice texture; from a distance you may notice color. Make an overall photograph and a detail crop, then write a caption for each. Together they can tell a small story with a change of distance.
Make it a small practice
- Choose one warm-colored focal point.
- Try removing one competing element.
- Make one overall image and one detail image.
