Choose a small intention
A greeting might invite someone closer, acknowledge their presence, or make room for them at a distance. Write the intention, then choose a familiar gesture. You can work seated, concentrating on direction and timing.
Change the order
In the first version, look toward the destination before raising a hand. In the second, raise the hand before the gaze follows. The action stays the same while its intention may feel different. Give yourself time to compare.
Explain the difference
Keep the version that best fits your starting intention and write why. If practicing with someone, ask whether they noticed the hands or the gaze first. This keeps the feedback specific and observable.
Make it a small practice
- Write a specific intention for the greeting.
- Try gaze-first and hand-first versions.
- Keep one and explain the choice.
