Notice traces in the space
Notice a well-worn path, a water bottle on a bench, or a faded line beside a court. Objects and traces let you describe the presence of activity without photographing or tracking people you do not know.
Give a sound its own sentence
Put the camera away for a moment and listen. Describe where a recurring sound comes from, how it stops, and how it begins again. You can leave out the word “lively” and let the events create that feeling.
Return to your own perspective
End by explaining why you stopped there. The reason may be a memory or a new interest. This keeps the story grounded in your perspective rather than borrowing a stranger’s identity or achievements.
Make it a small practice
- Choose an object or a trace.
- Write a complete sentence about a recurring sound.
- Finish with “I stopped because …”.
